To Crush A Dirty South Beat
Posted by BeatsMonster Beats

Not enough people spend enough time actually working on a different beat like a dirty south beat to actually crush one when they want to put out a track. There seems to be this idea out there that diversity is good for diversity’s sake, but if you’re going to take the time to create tracks over different types of beats, then you had better really do it right. The right way to do it is to study your strengths and weaknesses and then study the different ins and outs of the genre until you find a place where you can get a foot hold. This is especially true for a dirty south beat, and right now there’s hardly a rap beat type that’s any hotter. The hard part is just putting good lyrics to them.

Don’t think that you’re the only person looking at a dirty south beat and imagining yourself pulling in fans by pulling off a tight track, because you’re not. And if you’re gong to get anywhere in the industry at all your going to have to craft and perfect a style that makes people want to pay to listen to you. This isn’t rocket science, but in some respects it’s more difficult than people give it credit for. Selecting a good beat is one of the core requirements of making a good career. But in order to pick good beats you have to know what you are good at doing, and what things are similar in different beats.

Rapping to a dirty south beat is no different than rapping over any other beat, so don’t make it any more difficult than it needs to be. In the end if you learn and understand the things inside the beats that you react to then it won’t matter if you’re rapping a dirty south beat or a club beat. In fact, the only part of this that matters is that you can get hold of the beat in a way that you can work with. What you want to avoid is sounding like an imitator. You can’t just get on the beat and start mocking other dirty south rappers as if this is the way to nail a dirty south beat.

Instead you need to have a careful understanding of your own style, and then apply this style to the dirty south beat in a way that maintains the integrity of both. Don’t be fooled by the fact that a beat is hot right now. What really makes a hot song is the fact that the lyrics and the beats go together to create a totally separate thing. This is called the sum being greater than the parts and this is the only way to create a song to a dirty south beat or to any other beat. If you can’t reach this bench mark then there’s really no point in letting the track out. Every time you rap you should be looking to create a work of art that someone can enjoy, there’s nothing different in this respect than when you rap to a dirty south beat.
